FAQ
" The true turning point in my life came after college. It was at this point that I sought help for my disability. I looked for and eventually found, a speech therapist named Gail Wilson Lew.
This was the first time I had ever experienced another person who stutters. I was fascinated and had so many questions to ask her; How did you improve your stuttering? Can stuttering be passed on to your offspring? How is it caused?
Not only did she answer my questions, but she helped me change the way I think about stuttering [and] as well as how I perceive myself. This truly changed my lifestyle and personality.
I was finally able to overcome the anger and bitterness I felt towards the years of ridicule from peers.
I continue to grow more comfortable talking and interacting with people. I know that my stuttering is still present, but the more I work on it, the more I will improve my fluency. I am truly grateful to have ever met Gail.
She made me believe in myself; that I was able to do anything, as long as I apply myself. Gail ultimately helped re-inspire my initial goal of becoming a pharmacist.
Through inspiration, my drive and [personal] passion is solely on accomplishing my goal of becoming a pharmacist. I ultimately want to show people in the stuttering community that any goal is possible to those who stutter. Stuttering shouldn’t hinder an individual’s drive or mindset; it should propel them to seek out any or all possibilities open to them."
